The final state champions of the high school winter sports season were crowned on Tuesday with the completion of the Class 2A Iowa High School State Co-Ed Bowling Tournament at the Plaza Lanes in Des Moines. Waterloo West won the girls team title led by individual state champion Alexus Wilson with her two-game series of 503 including a tournament tying best 257 game. Read more »

The Class 1A State Co-Ed Bowling Championships are now completed from Plaza Lanes in Des Moines. The championship was delayed two weeks due to weather and not to interfere with the girls and boys state basketball tournament. Read more »

The Class 3A Iowa high school boy’s state basketball title game pitted two teams with great tradition as Waverly-Shell Rock faced Harlan and coach Mitch Osborn making his record 17th state basketball tournament appearance as a head coach. Waverly-Shell Rock their last title in 2007 with a runner-up finish in 2011. The Cyclones last title was in 2006 and also won a title in 2004. Read more »
