After rebounding from a disastrous 4-8 2012 football season, Iowa responded in 2013 with an 8-4 regular season. Expectations were high heading into last year, including some talk of a division title. But Iowa floundered down the stretch, including an ugly loss to Nebraska in the home finale along with a beat down at the hands of Tennessee in the TaxSlayer Bowl. After a disappointing 2-10 2014 season, Coach Paul Rhoads finds himself firmly on the coaching hot seat. After 3 bowl appearances in his first 4 seasons in Ames, Rhoads finds a fan base that has soured a bit and has to be asking if he can bring the program back to respectability.

The staff made a decision to go after Junior College prospects to help bridge the gap until the younger talent develops and find some impact players that can help over the next two seasons.
